Every once in awhile I’m grateful that Shreveport and Bossier City have the casinos. This isn’t because I enjoy gambling (I just don’t get it), but because everyone so often the casinos bring in worthwhile entertainment. The latest pop star to grace this town with her presence was Sheryl Crow.
With the band in boots and cowboy hats, something about the performance felt more authentic than if I had seen her in say, New York City. I went on a whim and am glad I did (even though my attendance brought the average age of the audience members down about 20 years) because even though it’s clear that Shreveport/Bossier City isn’t exactly my dream city, I was reminded that “it’s not having what you want, it’s wanting what you’ve got.”
